Although the tensile load of the mandrel is high, the brittleness of the mandrel is also increased. The micro-crack will lead to the increase of the brittle fracture probability of the mandrel. Therefore, under the premise of ensuring other technical parameters, the mandrel with moderate hardness and certain toughness should be selected. Under the strong crimping stress of the metal, the mandrel will produce a trace amount. The elastoplastic deformation can improve the reliability of crimping. In addition, the fitting size of the metal fitting and the mandrel is also very important. In general, the size of the fitting gap between the fitting and the mandrel is preferably in the range of 0.06-0.1 m.
